Volunteer Manager Wanted in Uganda
A community project in a rural but easily accessible village SW Uganda urgently needs a manager to stay out with them for at least six months to oversee existing projects and help organise new initiatives that will benefit both the local schools and the community in general.
You will be staying in the heart of the village at Uganda Lodge which offers basic but comfortable accommodation and your food will be cooked by local staff.
We have a number of short-term volunteers booked to stay over the next few months and you will be responsible for introducing them into the local schools and community groups and helping decide where they will be the most help.
No formal qualifications required for this position but you must have leadership skills and a happy friendly personality. Previous travel in a developing country would be helpful, as would IT and general DIY skills. Other useful interests might be sports and arts & crafts but are not a pre-requisite for applying.
From our website at www.ugandalodge.com you will get a better idea of what we are doing to help in this very rural community, and what your job might involve. If you wish to discuss this further please call Ann on 01932 566477
Please note this is NOT a salaried position and you will need to pay £200 per month for your food and accommodation plus your own transportation costs.
This project at Uganda Lodge is being run by a small registered UK charity "Let them help themselves out of Poverty" 1127387
