This is an absolutely fantastic sounding and playing guitar. A 1961 Gibson LG-3 (top of the LG range which also included the LG-0, LG-1 and LG-2) acoustic.

It is an X-braced guitar which gives it a smoother, louder and mellower tone compared to the ladder braced models which are more suited to old blues sounds.

Very, very rare! Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, solid spruce top & rosewood back & sides.

Essentially this is a mini J-50 and as I am lucky enough to own one of them as well I can tell you there is minimal difference in tone and projection between the two!

There is a sound hole crack common on vintage Gibsons where the sound hole meets the pick-guard. It is stable so I have not attempted a repair. A good luthier could fix this though, at not a great cost to you. The old klusons were replaced in the 60's with Grover tuners, these hold the tuning perfectly and are much more road-ready.

A well known London guitar shop has one of these up for £2595. Taking into account the changed tuners and sound-hole crack (an easy fix) I'm willing to accept £1800 ono.
