Server Engineer - Guildford, Surrey. Great opportunity to join this leading IT organisation's infrastructure team. You will be part of a group responsible for supporting HQ and regional offices throughout the UK. With over 1000 users, your team will support in excess of 400 servers. Main duties will include the support and maintenance of the current server platform; Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Exchange 2003, SQL Server 2000, Citrix and many other server based applications. You will ensure that the various IT platforms are operated in a secure and efficient manner by following best practices and performing pro-active maintenance and be responsible for all backup facilities and subsequent disaster recovery testing including maintaining system documentation. Technically you must have previous experience in a Server / Network support role with the following technologies:- Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2003, Server hardware and ideally exposure to Cisco equipment. Candidates with MCSE or CCNA qualifications would be preferred but not essential. Great working environment and excellent benefits package.
