I am a very experience Chartered Accountant looking for suitable opportunities. In summary, my experience includes:-

•First class honours degree and three prizes from London University (LSE 1982 to 1985).
•Trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick in London passing all examinations first time (1985 to 1988).
•Spent eight years in the Corporate Finance department of Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) in London (1988 to 1996) where I undertook a wide range of commercial assignments including acquisition reviews, due diligence, flotations and corporate turnaround work (including implementing operational change).
•Spent three years in various Financial Controller roles in the Caribbean (1996 to 1999).
•Spent two years working for a small Accountancy Firm on Grand Cayman where I undertook Auditing, Accounting and Liquidation work. During my time there I increased the number of audits from 10 to 29. Work was carried out in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP or International Accounting Standards (as appropriate).
•Set up own Chartered Accountancy / Consulting firm in Guildford in October 2001.
•November 2004 to November 2006 Interim UK Financial Accountant / Interim Finance Director at a food packaging manufacturing and sales company where I was involved in the restructuring of the UK group as well as being responsible for the external financial accounting, internal group reporting, tight budgetary control and tax issues / planning.
•November 2006 to December 2008 I was Finance Director at a newly formed IT equipment wholesaler / software developer which operated in a rapidly changing market place. I was responsible for assisting the Managing Director run the business on a day to day basis as well as running the accounting department on a hands on basis.

I therefore have extensive experience of a wide range of Financial and Commercial areas including Corporate Finance, Corporate Turnaround, Auditing, Management Accounting and Financial Control. I have had exposure to a wide range of accounting packages ranging from “off the shelf” packages (such as BPCS, COGNOS, Sage, Quick Books Pro and ACCPAC) to large bespoke packages. I have a high proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and word processing packages as well as well developed report writing skills. I also have good communication skills and extensive team leadership experience. I am analytical, well organised, hardworking and commercial.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated my communication ability and my ability to gain the confidence and trust of my colleagues. I am comfortable and skilled at dealing with, and influencing, people at all levels (including operating at Board level) both inside and outside the organisation that I worked with.
