Wonderful temporary opportunity for experienced carer (male preferred) in Surrey (40 minutes from London direct on train) working with an elderly couple to start on the 30th of November and finish on the 16th of November. This is a live-in position required for 2 weeks with the further opportunity of work providing cover for the fulltime carer. The position is predominantly caring for an elderly gentleman, but also involves informal support for both. Ideal for a patient and experienced carer.

The job is live in, all expenses paid, including own room and private en-suite bathroom. You would be carrying out all aspects of personal care for an elderly gentleman with cerebellar ataxia and helping him and his wife with basic household duties (shopping cooking, cleaning, washing and all household tasks, as well as possibly some gardening). The personal care includes helping him get up and dressed in the morning, toileting and incontinence management, having a bath, giving medication, assistance with meals and transfers when needed. Transfer aids are available. He uses a small electric wheelchair to get around during the day and for visits out to the garden. Also important is generally being available to be a companion, including reading aloud and helping with gardening. He's undemanding and incredibly patient with his condition and is generally in need of someone patient to listen to him (as his speech is severally affected) and to help improve his quality of life. A detailed care plan will be provided and support from the family is available as needed.
Full driving license required
Pay is £900 for the 2 weeks depending on experience + travelling expenses.
