Support Work Team required to support a brain injured person returning to his own home:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a 24 hour a day support work and rehabilitation team enabling a brain injured man to return from a residential rehabilitation unit to his own home in the Rudgewick area of West Sussex.

Staff will need to have prior experience of working as support workers and as part of a team. Training and skilled support will be provided.

Knowledge of brain injury is desirable.

The successful candidates will:
 Have a mature outlook. Be patient, calm, flexible and resourceful
 Be able to work without constant supervision
 Be willing to follow guidance of professionals involved
 Be able to adhere to a behavioural management programme
 Be able to cope with potentially challenging behaviour
 Be willing to learn and attend relevant courses, as required
 Work in a team to promote the client’s independence
 Speak English fluently
 A full driving licence is essential

We are recruiting a full team to provide 24-hour care, starting in September 2008.
Some flexibility will be required with shift patterns however positions will generally be between 28 and 37.5 hours per week.

Male Senior Support Worker (£18.54 to £22.60 per hour)
A male Senior Support Worker will be required to assist supervise and manage the rehabilitation and support work package and will require previous experience of managing/supervising staff. Applications from qualified nurses or professions allied to health are welcomed.

Support Workers (£12.36 to £16.48 per hour) 6 Support Workers are required to carry out the tasks and activities generated by the rehabilitation team. Tasks will include practical support with activities such as washing and dressing, supporting the client to access the community and carry out activities of daily living whilst adhering to the behavioural management programme designed.

Male Waking Night Support Workers (£14.42 to £16.48 per hour)
3 Support Workers are required to cover a waking night rota, assisting the client as required and according to the plan defined.

Sleeping Night Support Workers (£60.00 per night)
3 Support Workers are required to cover a sleeping night rota, assisting the client as required and according to the plan defined.
