Guildford flatshare - double rooms
Double Room in Exec. Apartment Available for Flatshare Godalming Ideal for Young Professionals (£550 pcm)
Available for rent is a double bedroom in an executive apartment in Surrey Cloisters, Godalming. Our relationship with our previous housemates has recently broken down, and we now find ourselves with a spare room available to let.
My girlfriend and I lived here with two other people, and it would be suitable for either three or four people. We have the largest plot in the building, with a private entrance rather than the shared entrance into the main body of the building. We also have parking spaces in a private car park (you would have one between you both, although there is usually room and the road outside is relatively easy to park on).
The property itself is split over two floors, keeping the sleeping quarters separate, and the entrance is another floor down ( i.e. you enter the property and go straight up a flight of steps). On the first floor you have the large living dining area, with multimedia centre and leather sofas. The entire apartment is furnished. The kitchen is open plan and although small, is perfectly formed, with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. It is usually difficult for everyone to cook at once, but this is not usually an issue as I work long hours that often change. My girlfriend is a law student at the College in Guildford. There is also an office on the first floor, that is Emma's but she would be willing to share. There is a large, double sofa bed in there also, for guests. The bathroom that comes included with your room (and is only for you) is also on this floor, and has a power shower, bath, and towel heater.
Upstairs, the room is fully furnished, with a widescreen TV, double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bed side cabinet, and is cream carpetted throughout. It is a spacious room, in the eaves of the building, and is a fantastic space, big enough for two easily.
We are a quiet, tidy couple who are looking for similarly minded people/person. Our neighbours have young children, and have complained about the noise a couple of times (front door slamming etc), so the people moving in would need to be considerate. It is expensive on rent - ideally we were going to try and afford it ourselves, but found it a little too steep - however, once you see it you will understand why.
It is perfect for the young professional, and this is the sort of person we hope to attract. Failing this, we would consider taking on a mature student, possibly from the law school, and this would avoid council tax. If a young professional moved in, this would also incur a £50 increase in the tax - it would be my intention to divide this evenly between all earning parties. Bills work out at around £30 each a month, effectively making overall cost of £580 a month for your room including bills for a student, or £680 for a professional. (Council tax band E - £200 a month) Essentially £160 a week for the room, all bills and council tax included... Although when I think about it, if you earn £24K, that isn't a massive chunk of your monthly wages... The deposit on the property is a month and a half's rent, not including bills of course, payable into a DPS account held with the Estate Agent.
I appreciate this is an expensive property, but it is beautifully decorated and maintained. If you wish to see more photos, or have a look around, please contact us at the email address below. We look forward to hearing from you.
