Adolescent Dogs are leading specialists in Residential Dog Training.
Residential training is a popular choice for many people and is a cost effective option if you want a well trained dog.
We offer a very unique residential training programme that not only provides your dog with intensive one to one time with the trainer, but it also gives you support for the life of your dog at no extra cost. This means unlimited one to one lessons or group classes as needed until you are happy that you understand how to maintain the training that has been taught to your dog. In effect, you will have the trainer on hand whenever you need for the rest of your dogs life without spending another dime. Afterall, it would be no good if your dog was well behaved with the trainer, but fell straight back into bad habits at home with the family.
Training a dog can be a difficult task, so it's no wonder most owners struggle with their dogs behaviour on a daily basis. As professionals it is much easier for us to quickly find the right method that works for your dog and get the training right from the start. This makes it a much quicker and less stressful learning process for both you and your dog.
Our programme works in a similar way to how guide dogs are trained. Initially your dog spends time with the trainer on a one to one basis learning new commands and getting rid of any bad habits. We then spend time with you afterwards to show you how to handle your dog, maintain the training and how to teach new exercises.
Residential training is especially useful if you are struggling with a difficult or boistrous dog or if you find it hard to find the time to put into training.
We only take one dog at a time and your dog will live with the trainer in their own home throughout the duration of the course. Your dog will also join the trainer to every evening class to work with distractions or learn to relax with them and will also have the opportunity to join in with the dog agility.
All residential training is run by our head instructor Jenny Trigg who is an approved instructor for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). The APDT offers a guarantee of quality when looking for a dog trainer in your area.
The benefits of our Residential Training include:
- Giving you lifetime support at no extra cost at the end of the course.
- Having your dog trained while you are on holiday or at work
- Giving your dog 100% individual attention throughout the course (not shared amongst other dogs).
- No need for your dog to go to kennels, your dog lives with the trainer.
- Your dog will also join the trainer to all of the evening classes to work against distractions and have the opportunity to join in with the dog agility.
- Concentrating training outdoors for realistic training and handling.
- Allowing the owner to focus on learning the skills, instead of learning and teaching at the same time.
The purpose of our residential training course is to enhance the quality of life for dogs and their owners and to teach them how to control and manage their dogs behaviour.
The Residential Training Programme runs as an intensive 10 day course.
Most problems are due to a breakdown in the relationship and communication between owner and dog, so Residential Training doesnt just stop with us. At the end of the course, you will receive hands on tuition with your dog to learn the necessary skills to maintain your dogs training. Time will be spent teaching you how to control and manage your dogs behaviour and improve your relationship so that your dog will listen and respond to you.
The residential course carries a free lifetime support service which gives you unlimited access to all of our group training classes as needed to help with your dogs continued development. This is very important if you don't want your dog to slip into bad habits.
