Hays Education is currently looking for Cover Supervisors to work in a diverse and successful school in the Chiswick area of Hounslow. The School is a specialist Technology College and caters for students from 11-19 years. There are 1250 students currently attending this dynamic school.

The School has a full commitment to delivering a first class education by all their staff to all their students.

The role will start of as a part time position 1-5 days a week but there are potentially up to 5 permanent positions available for the right candidates.

Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a rewarding career but also very demanding as you take on the responsibilities of the class Teacher. Although there is always a Teacher close at hand if needed, you will be expected to use your own initiative and move your career forward building on these skills.

Typical responsibilities of Cover Supervisors include:
Supervising work that has been set by the class Teacher
Interacting with pupils to assist with learning and teaching
Ensuring that pupils remain focused on their work
Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies
Managing behaviour by following the schools behaviour policy
Reporting back on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising

Person Specification
The ideal candidates will be confident, have a proven track record of leading a group, willing to work as part of a team.
This role will suit outgoing personalities who are looking for an exciting and rewarding role, or looking to gain classroom experience before applying for a secondary teaching qualification .We are looking for candidates that have experience that will be relevant to controlling a classroom environment at secondary level. Must have 40 days worth of experience working with children.

Teaching Assistants, Unqualified Teachers, Undergraduate Students are welcome to apply.

You will be required to complete an enhanced police disclosure and be able to provide reference details to cover the last 2 years prior to starting work.
