Coach for Dyslexic Man to support him in Work Role

20 hours support per week is required for Man who is Dyslexic and Dyspraxic. The hours of support should be flexible so that all aspects of tasks, and routines supported regularly and to remind Client of the strategies and procedures he can use when working alone.

Specific tasks
• Encouraging Client to develop and stick to routines
• To use multi sensory job coaching approaches to learn routines
• Implement strategies: e.g. colour coding, picture prompts, key finding, to do lists
• To advise when inappropriate language is being used when talking to colleagues
• To model calm behaviour and help client to deal with frustrations, interruptions etc calmly
• To prompt client when he loses track of what he should be doing
• To support client during in-house training and apply job coaching techniques to consolidate learning post training
• Give positive feedback and encourage independent working
• To act as a note taker and advocate for client in supervision meetings

Person Specification

• Good computer skills including familiarity with e-mail and spreadsheets
• Patience and good humour
• Understanding of complex disability needs
• Good mobility (job involves walking around a large site)

Venue Proctor and Gamble Egham

Working Pattern Mon –Fri 10.30-15.00

Hourly rate £8.50
