Senior Structural Design Engineer
Our client is one of the world's leading rail engineers. Its rail business is the largest in its field in Europe.
They have committed forward workload and a strategy to achieve growth through expanding their existing client base to provide consultancy services including GRIP 1-3 feasibilities, outline design, detailed design, and consultancy advice.
As part of the provision of locally-based multi-functional railway consultancy services, there is a need for an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer (Stations and Platforms) to join our Structural Design Team.
They have recently relocated to modern new offices. The newly refurbished office affords a clean, modern workplace; providing you with a healthy and professional working environment.
Current major rail projects include upgrade and improvement works on Thameslink, Docklands Light Railway and Kings Cross Station as well as work on the East London Line extension and W10 Route Clearance work in the South East.
Responsibilities
Management of multiple projects, so as to achieve the client’s objectives to cost and programme
Prepare and lead proposals and offers for projects with defined design and cost parameters
Undertake independent studies/analysis and preparing recommendations and conclusions for formal review
Effectively manage own time which may if necessary be allocated to more than one project
Build client relationships and identify business prospects, and develop sales opportunities
Requirements
Extensive experience in UK building design and analysis
Chartered Structural Engineer or Civil Engineer
Competent user of industry standard software to include design, office & planning software
Able to review and certify compliance
Proactive team player able to lead and drive projects from concept to closure
Acknowledged expertise in structural/civil engineering and able to exercise technical leadership
You will have demonstrated the ability to work within budget, to control costs and manage change control
You will be commercially aware and have a flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility
